The Social Services Program Strategist provide strategic leadership and oversight of the daily operations of all social services programming for the Schools of Perea.
They lead instruction in the Bridge Program, which is a temporary intensive intervention designed to support students in building academic, social, and emotional skills necessary to engage in the home classroom.

Phonics Clinician

ABOUT THE PHONICS CLINICIAN ROLE

The Phonics Clinician is a key member of the school’s Instructional Team. They provide direct instruction to students in grades K-5 as a result of establishing an Individual Phonics Track for each student enrolled at SOP. The Phonics Clinician also works to establish a strong relationship with families to support the presence of literacy in the home as an extension of the on-campus learning experiences. Phonics Clinicians are responsible for hosting quarterly literacy events to increase family involvement and sustain the academic growth of SOP Panthers.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Maintain a student-centered approach in interactions with students and staff members.
  2. Execute lesson plans aligned with the SOP Phonics for ALL Tiered Model.
  3. Implement the Phonics curriculum, using appropriate supports and scaffolds as needed.
  4. Administer required academic assessments to students. 
  5. Document and communicate the academic progress of students to appropriate stakeholders.
  6. Lead the planning and facilitation of quarterly literacy events to promote family engagement.
  7. Participate in ongoing professional learning to include strategies that support the SOP Phonics for ALL Tiered Model. 
  8. Facilitate and/or engage in ongoing professional learning to support the fidelity of program implementation. 
  9. Use all relevant, available data sources to make sound instructional decisions for students. 

REQUIRED AND DESIRED SKILLS AND CHARACTERISTICS

  • Minimum Education Level: Must have a bachelor’s degree. TN Teacher License with appropriate endorsements (i.e., Elementary K-5)
  • Experience Required: Documented experience working as a credentialed classroom teacher
